Characteristics of the Migration Process
Welcome to this fifth module on mental health at work and the process of adaptation in the context of migration.
Integrating into a socio-professional environment is not just a question of technical or even social skills. These skills are obviously essential to acquire and develop, especially when one is not familiar with the social environment. When you migrate, it’s already a first challenge!
On the other hand, this migratory process puts the person who experiences it, faced with a series of challenges of another order. The person who migrates sees his psychological balance upset by circumstances, attitudes, etc. that she does not know and that she must manage simultaneously. It is the simultaneity of these stress factors to be managed that places the person in a delicate situation. Depending on her personality, her past, in short, her personal resources, she will do more or less well or not at all.
The modules on mental health specifically address the different stressors that everyone encounters in their migration process. They also offer ways to manage them in order to be able to make the best use of their professional skills in a new environment.
