Stress – Migration – Migration Process
Welcome to this second module on mental health in the workplace and the adaptation process in the context of migration.
Integrating into a socio-professional environment is not only a question of technical or even social skills. These skills are obviously essential to acquire and develop, especially when one is not familiar with the social environment. When one migrates, it is already a first challenge!
On the other hand, this migratory process puts the person who lives it, in front of a series of challenges of another order. The person who migrates sees his or her psychological equilibrium upset by circumstances, attitudes, etc. that he or she is not familiar with and that he or she must manage simultaneously. It is the simultaneity of these stressors to be managed that places the person in a delicate situation. Depending on his personality, his past, in short, his personal resources, he will cope more or less well or not at all.
The modules on mental health specifically address the various stress factors that everyone encounters in the migration process. They also suggest ways to manage them in order to make the best use of one’s professional skills in a new environment.
